Dr. Ana L. Rodriguez, MD
Dr. Ana Rodriguez received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California at Irvine in 1978. After earning her medical degree, she was commissioned by the United States Air Force and served her first tour of duty in Italy as a general medical officer. She was then accepted to the Wilford Hall Medical Center in Texas for a residency in dermatology.
During her service of eight years in the Air Force as a flight surgeon and dermatologist, Dr. Rodriguez pioneered military usage of lasers in dermatology. After transferring to the Air Force Reserve, she returned to Texas. In 1987, she began her dermatology practice in San Marcos. Dr. Rodriguez is board-certified in dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. In addition, she has conducted Dermatologic Laser Surgery procedures since 1985 and holds numerous credentials in laser surgery.
Dr. Rodriguez routinely performs a variety of rejuvenation treatments such as CO2 fractional laser resurfacing along with Botox® and fillers. She is very skilled at body contouring procedures including laser assisted lipolysis and tumescent liposuction. She combines technical ability and an artist’s sensitivity to ensure the best cosmetic results from all procedures. With the understanding that everyone is unique, multiple lasers and state of the art equipment are used to ensure the very best results. All procedures are conducted in the comfort of the beautiful 3500 square foot facility.
Micah Williams, Physician Assistant
Micah Williams is a board-certified and licensed Physician Assistant (PA) who grew up in Dallas-Fort Worth. She studied at The University of Texas at Austin and graduated cum laude from the Business Honors Program with Pre-Health Studies. She earned her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where she was on the Dean’s List.
Micah is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She joined Dr. Rodriguez in 2020 and is excited to be working at Dermatology Laser Center & Spa. She has a passion for dermatology and is happy to be back in this part of Texas. Her hobbies include hiking, traveling, and reading.
Edward Perez, MD, PhD
We are excited to announce that Dr. Perez will be joining our practice starting November 16th, 2020.
Dr. Perez is a native of Central Texas being born and raised in Austin. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on biomedical applications, he chose to train in clinical medicine at Harvard Medical School where he was in the first class in tutorial curriculum. He complemented his medical degree from Harvard with graduate study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He focused on materials for tissue regeneration in which he received his PhD from MIT. His work on epithelial cell scaffolding was the genesis of a silicon valley startup for refractive surgery.
He took his dermatology training at Stanford University in Palo Alto California where he was the chief resident in his final year. His clinical focus remains robust as he constantly maintains clinical activity in all aspects of general dermatology and surgical dermatology. With a penchant for regenerative clinical technologies he has extensive experience in using synthetic skin for wound healing. More recently, Dr Perez has embraced cutting edge therapeutics in Biologics to help his patients with previously poorly responsive disease.
Dr. Perez maintains research collaborations with MIT for study and development of new diagnostic and therapeutic medical technologies. Even so, his professional goals center on his patients. He enjoys seeing his patients and considers that interaction paramount. He is fortunate to be able to speak Spanish and service a greater portion on the Central Texas population. He feels great affection for the patients of Central Texas and is honored to bring his wide and highly special education to his home state.
Summer Elliott, licensed medical aesthetician
Summer Elliott is a licensed medical aesthetician experienced in analyzing skin and which treatments are best for each individual client’s needs. She has knowledge in skincare products and ingredients. Her expertise in laser and cosmetic procedures includes laser hair removal, Hydra-facial MD, micro dermabrasion, medical grade chemical peels, micro-needling, dermaplaning, Blu-u lamp, lash and brow tinting and a variety of skin resurfacing lasers. She was licensed and trained as an aesthetician at Avenue five in Austin and continued her education at Texas laser and aesthetics.
